All communication with the fleet is done via SMS essages, so in addition to the GPS equipped phones, one ordinary data capable GSM phone is required for SMS messaging (it is connected to a serial port in the computer).

One SMS server software can be shared amongst several workstations with FIND express application, making the fleet management easier by allowing sub-grouping of fleet for different persons to manage and also makes it possible for several people to work on fleet at once.

Messaging log is saved on both the server and main application, and the logs can be synchronized.

System requirements
- Windows 98/ME/2000/XP: memory need depends on the size of map material, QuickTime is required to handle sounds and pictures (available for free from Apple).

The evaluation version lets you track only one fleet item and works for 20 days without a registration code. The registration code can be purchased directly and securely from our Kagi page at http://order.kagi.com/?FGM, and entered into the software. Maps
FIND express does not force you to use any particular maps - any picture file will do as long as it is in raster format, and the material is WGS84 compatible. So, any scanned map or CAD drawing can work as well as other available maps. Calibration is a simple task of showing two known points in the map. You can also ask ID express Oy for ready to use maps and map manufacturers. We are also looking to co-operate with new map material providers, so if you are one, please contact us.

Benefon phones
Benefon Esc! is a GSM phone with built-in GPS and a map display - the Track also has a built-in GPS with more extensive telematics capabilities, like status messages, condition tracking and emergency button.

Licensing and pricing
Licensing is bind to the amount of fleet items:

One trackable object version, 80 euros
Five trackable objects, 600 euros
Ten trackable objects, 1600 euroa

If there is need for more than ten trackable fleet items, the SMS traffic usually increases so much that ordinary GSM phone may have problems handling it. Therefore we are currently co-operating with Bonware Oy. They have a middleware product SMS Messaging Gateway that talks directly to operators message centre via network - and is tested to perform well with very high messaging traffic.
